Where Exodus came from
Exodus Breeders began in York, Pennsylvania, in the late 1990s. It grew out of a working horse-breeding operation and was led for most of its history by the Wiesman family. The approach was hands-on from the start. If a product was going to carry the Exodus name, it was used on Exodus horses first.
That is how the Equine Express II came about. Breeders were shipping more cooled semen every season, and Exodus wanted a disposable box that cooled consistently, needed no deposit or return trip, and could be packed the same way every time. Exodus drafted its first patent claims for it in 1997, and it has been the company's best-known product ever since.
The extenders followed, and so did a conviction Exodus has argued for ever since: cooling rate is only part of shipping semen successfully. Concentration, extension, pH and osmolarity matter just as much. In 2005 the same thinking went into a canine line.
Our mission
It is our mission to offer expert technical support backed by superior customer service. Exodus Breeders Corporation develops, manufactures and distributes equine reproductive supplies time tested in our own micro-managed breeding operation.
Or, as the Exodus team put it in their last catalog: "Customer service is not a department, it's our entire company."
Exodus today
Exodus Breeders is now part of Creative Science, the brand-owning arm of CIMA Animal Health, and is run from Orange City, Iowa. The Exodus toll-free number still works, and the products are the same ones breeders have used for years. They are now sold at Revival Animal Health, CIMA's marketplace for breeders.
